Many states have privatized medical care within their correctional agencies (institutions and community corrections) as a means to reduce costs.  Some states have even gone beyond that and have allowed private companies to manage and administer their correctional institutions.  How have the costs of privatization (administration, personnel, capacity) affected mass incarceration within the criminal justice system and, how has the reduction in government funding influenced healthcare within correctional agencies?
