For this assignment, you will write a reflection paper that contains two parts.
Part I
Discuss the relationship between technology innovation and counterterrorism strategies. Address the strengths and challenges that social media brings to homeland security efforts. Explain one challenge that can arise due to interoperability of communication, and provide an example of how it could affect internal and external homeland security efforts or strategies.
Part II
You are to identify the missions of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and provide an example of an issue and how that issue could affect one or more of those missions. Then, reflect on what you have learned overall about homeland security throughout this course, and summarize how this new knowledge learned in the course will be used in your prospective career path.
Combine both parts into the same Word document. The completed assignment must be a minimum of three pages in length. You are required to use at least three resources and adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment. Include in-text citations and references for all sources that are used.
