What are the applications of superconductivity? Superconductivity was discovered early in the 20th century. It allows current to flow in certain materials without electrical resistance when the material's temperature is lowered to extreme temperatures.

This week, you will examine applications of electricity and related concepts. Electricity is fundamental to our increasingly technology-based society.  The technology based on these concepts can be used for applications as diverse as heating food to transportation to communication at long distances.

Depending on the topic you are assigned, you will research applications related to electric circuits, magnetism, and electromagnetic radiation.
