When It comes to leadership, everyone has a different definition of leadership, but we see that the video grants to what book defined leadership. Most people including me think leadership is all about position, title, or personal attributes. I thought when someone wants to be a leader, he or she should be aggressive, yelling at people, but after I read  Chapter 1,2 and the video I realized that these things do not have anything to do with leadership. That was my picture of leadership, but It was thoroughly Fales. Another thing I was thinking about leaders that they should be management as well, but I knew that they are no associated with leadership and management. In the video admits that “facilitation of a process of tapping into unlimited human potential and turning it into desire result. The video mentioned that “Talent does not equal result” and Talent is given, but at the same time, you need to develop and improve it by practice. The important thing is not just talent, it’s how you will lead determines how successful you are.

The fact that drew attention was that 50% most CEO graduated with a C or C minus average, 65% of US senators and 75% of US presidents came from the bottom half of the graduating class. And %50 of millionaire entrepreneurs never even finished college. I think I am surprised that most people who we always see them on TV do not have finish their school, but they have lots of followers.

Respond 1:

The video provided tried to analyze what it means to be a leader. And indeed it not different from what is provided in class even though the words used may be different but still drive to the same point Rierson, 2014). People with the ability to convert things into the opportunity can make good leaders. However, leadership is characterized by some form leading traits which makes the video quite varying with the book. In this regard, good leaders have these qualities that outshines them from other people as great leaders Rierson, 2014). As such, the video highlighted that qualities don’t make qualify for leadership style where there are people born with leadership qualities. The class work provided that the leaders are made from good qualities people acquire from their families.

The video discusses about the talented individuals’ video and how talents is far from leadership. It is true that talents may requires aggressiveness to ignite its potential (Rierson, 2014). It is a special skills that is God given but people can use it well to make them good leaders. Productive people have tried to succeed because they were able to translate their leadership skills into a useful; tool for success. Those who are talented need to work extra to realize their potential.

The success of some people is not measured by what they deliver today but in regard to their previous performances. The video pointed out the need for consistency in the goal achievement which relate to leadership. Any leader must be up to the task each day to realize their skills exploitation. Indeed from the study and the video provided, leadership requires aggressive minds to realize their capacities.
