The goal of this assignment is to help students practice applying module materials to themselves and their organizations and to provide an opportunity for students to give and receive related developmental peer feedback. Think of it as your personal learning journal as a leader in which you reflect upon, and apply, important terms and concepts from the module to yourself and your growth as a leader and to your organization (current, past or future). Begin by competing all required readings and video lectures (including all leader “Leadership Practice: Know Yourself” assessments for the Daft chapters assigned for this module).
In your journal entry, address each of the following:
1. Complete all Chapter 1-3 “Leadership Practice: Know Yourself” assessments. What did you learn (or relearn) about yourself from completing these “Leadership Practice: Know Yourself” assessments? (Chapters 1-3)
2. Which classical and modern leadership theories and techniques are closest to your personal views on leadership effectiveness? Which are closest to how leadership effectiveness is judged in your organization [Organizational Leadership MBA learning objective 1c & MBA core learning objective 6a].
3. What is leadership potential? What is your own leadership potential? How do you gauge leadership potential in others? (Daft Ch1).
4. What personality traits and characteristics are associated with effective leadership? Which do you possess and which are areas for growth? (Daft Ch 2)
5. Describe how leadership is often contingent upon people and situations in your organization or day to day work. (Daft Ch 3)
**This assignment should be done in a journal format. I have attached the corse book for reference. The answers in the journal should address all the 5 questions accordingly***
