28 Sep Eugene V. Debs
Historically, third party candidates do not have success at the highest level of elections (running for President) in the United States, but they do sometimes have success at the local level.
How is that trend seen with the Socialist Party and the Eugene V. Debs’ candidacy for the presidency? [Think about the Socialist wins for local positions in addition to Debs’ run at the presidency.]
Also, Debs was likely aware of the unliklihood of his election. Why would a candidate run for President if it is unlikely they will win?
