This discussion will address power and influence in organizations. James MacGregor Burns says
not all human influences are necessarily coercive and exploitative … the most powerful influences consist of deeply human relationships in which two or more persons engage with one another…To understand the nature of leadership requires understanding of the essence of power, for leadership is a special form of power. (Burns, 2010)
