1. Observe a special education teacher implementing a lesson in a special education environment to an individual student diagnosed with ASD or to a small group of students that includes a student diagnosed with ASD. 

   Note the following in your observation:

   • Physical environment
   • Interventions used
   • Instructional strategies
   • Accommodations or modifications used (including behavioral, if applicable)
   • Specialized resources
   • Integration of technology
   • Paraprofessional role if present
   • Interview the teacher observed to find out the teacher’s rationale for classroom environment preparation, adaptive instruction, and specialized resources they may use. 

     Refer to the Teacher Interview Questions document when conducting your interview.

     Write a 525- to 700-word paper on the interview and observation. Include descriptions of the following:

   • Physical environment (such as bulletin boards, seating arrangements, displays for instruction, and any physical accommodations)
   • Interventions used with ASD student
   • Instructional strategies used
   • Accommodations or modifications used (including behavioral, if applicable)
   • Specialized resources used
   • Integration of technology
   • Paraprofessional role, if present
