Well done. I can see you successfully use our textbook and lesson. I would like to see more input on how the caste system affects Indian life. How different was the position of women and men in Aryan society?

Religious belief defined the social structure of Aryans in various ways. The Aryans were divided into various groups, including Brahmins, who were priests, scholars, and philosophers, Kshatriyas, who were rulers and warriors and Vaishyas, who were traders, farmers, craftsmen, and merchants (Zaidi, 2021). The religious beliefs and practices of Aryans are mainly described as Vedas, which are traditional texts written in Sanskrit. The Vedas are categorized into various groups, including the Sama, Riga, Atharva, and Yajur Veda. The Aryans had rigid controls over their population for several reasons, such as the closed nature of various guilds, the intermixture of varnas and castes, and the need to include foreigners in the social structure (Prasad & Kumar, 2018). I think they tied religion and social stratification together because of the complex and diverse societies which always force powerful majority religions to hold their social power over the heads of less powerful minority religions.
