The second essay in EN104 is an academic argument with research documented in APA format. For the academic argument essay, you will be using the principles of argument to advocate for a position on an issue, and you will use evidence to persuade your reader to see your point of view. This week, you will begin to map out your ideas for this upcoming essay. Begin by thinking of a topic. Try thinking of a change you’d like to see in your community or your current or future workplace. What’s an issue you care about? What do you think should be done to address a problem you see? An answer to these questions is often a good starting point for a topic.
