This assignment gives you the chance to design a product that communicates key information about a health issue or related topic covered in Chapters 1-8 of your text (i.e., promoting health among children & adolescents, poverty, stress & resilience, youth suicide, etc). You will use your creative, writing, and communication skills to develop a fact sheet or infographic about a health issue or topic related to child and adolescent health. Your fact sheet/infographic must be accompanied by a brief rationale (about 1 page) where you explain why you chose your topic/issue, how you selected the facts you wanted to highlight in your fact sheet/infographic, include references for your facts, and any other relevant information you feel is important to include. You can choose whether you want to provide national, state, or local facts. Do be sure to specify the population you are covering. I am leaving this assignment broad to give you more freedom to approach this assignment with more agency and creativity. Consider what communication piece would be attractive to you. Additionally, consider your target population. You may choose to design your product for children, adolescents, or adults. You’ll need to take a different approach to your design based on your population. In your brief rationale, indicate your target audience.
For this assignment, the accuracy of the facts presented, clarity of communication, design, presentation, and rationale are all key components.
