Directions – Watch the following videos and then answer one of the following 3 prompts. 

The proportion of the workforce over the age of 55 has increased substantially over the past 10-15 years.  Please answer one of the following  prompts:

(1). Describe why more adults are working to a later age. That is, what are some of the reasons why older adults are able to work later in life and/or why adults might need to work past their retirement age? What are some things that have happened in our society to drive this change?

(2) Debate the pros and cons of having more individuals over the age of 55 in the workforce. How do older adults benefit the workplacet? What might be some challenges they experience in the workplace? How might employment benefit the older adult? OR

(3) How does ageism impact an older adult's ability to maintain gainful employment as they age? That is how do ageist beliefs, behaviors, or actons in the worksite result in the loss of employment and/or loss of ability to move forward in one's career? What are some ways companies can combat ageism that may benefit BOTH younger and older employees?
