Azita's discussion is good. One thing we need to consider when performing a hypothesis test is which distribution do we use for the test. The test we are performing could use the t distribution or the Z distribution, There are rules that we can use to determine if we should use the t distribution or the Z distribution. Can anyone describe the rules for determining whether to use the t or Z distribution? Which distribution would be correct for the data we have in this example?
