Read the article The Evolution of Human Resources and 14 Most Important Functions of Human
Resource Management ( https://www.chrmp.com/functions-of-human-resource-management/)posted in Moodle under the Assignments tab before your field study observation. The information you learn in these articles should be included in your paper. Identify an organization for field research. The purpose of this assignment is to make you more aware of the impact human resource strategies have on day-to-day operations of an organization. Write a paper (3-5 pages, double-spaced) summarizing the information you collected from your field study research. Include the following elements in your paper:
1. Spend a minimum of 1.5 hours observing the operations of a company( Canada company). You will need to physically go to a place of business and observe the operations. Include the details of your site visit in your reference list at the end of your paper. What company did you visit? What is the address of the company? What was the date and time of your visit?
2. Introduce the company/organization. Learn about the company before your visit. What is the product/service? What is the organization’s mission/purpose? What is the size of the company in revenues and employees? Is the company international, global, or just domestic? Include your sources in your reference list.
3. Describe your field study visit. When and where did you perform your field study? What did you observe during your study?
4. How well did the workers deliver on the mission/purpose of the organization? You will know the mission/purpose/vision from your pre-research.
5. Were there visible signs of how the workers’ success was being measured? For example, a customer satisfaction survey or a screen at the drive-thru tracking time to complete an order. You may need to ask employees for examples. Were these measurements aligned with the company mission/purpose?
6. How engaged and motivated were the workers to deliver the mission of the organization? What evidence did you collect to support your conclusions? Be specific.
7. Were the workers trained appropriately for their positions? Did you observe workersperforming with excellence in their positions or was their evidence that employee training was lacking? Support with specific examples.
8. What was the coordination of work between the employees? Did employees have separate roles from one another? If so, how was work handed off from one employee to another?
9. After observing the company do you think the company uses a low or high HRM commitment? Refer to the Low or High HRM Commitment table posted in Session #2. Apply a minimum of the 3 of the HRM areas from the table to support your conclusion.
10. Reference what you learned from the articles The Evolution of Human Resources and 14 Most Important Functions of Human Resource Management in your paper to add depth to what you saw in your field study.
