Overview
This week, there is a focus on outsourcing strategies, supply chain design, and flexibility. Outsourcing can be referred to as the make versus buy decision because firms must decide which functions to keep in-house and what should be outsourced to external suppliers. Global sourcing is a critical strategic decision influenced by the capabilities needed to compete. Thus, strategic outsourcing is beyond a business strategy. It is also a corporate strategy that must be addressed to gain the most efficiency.
