Behaviorism is a fundamental concept in educational psychology. Learning takes place because of two kinds of conditioning: operant and classical. Classical conditioning is based on autonomic responses, not decisions. Classical conditioning begins with autonomic nervous system "automatic" responses like salivation, or fear.
