As we have learned by examining various contemporary issues, ethics are a mix of opinion and fact. Where you fall on a topic is of course, up to you (opinion). Whether, for example, a belief is consistent depends on the definition of consistency (fact or critical thinking element). When dealing with an ethical problem, the idea is to use both to arrive at the best conclusion to determine the best course of action.
