How do you know what to use and how to lead your students?
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) is a professional community that has identified standards to help focus educators on elements to guide their practices and instruction.
Their vision is that all educators are empowered to use technology and inspire students to reach their greatest potential, so they are a great source of technology-based information for your classrooms.
TEA has also incorporated these standards into a required training element for all teacher candidates:

228.30 (C) The following subject matter shall be included in the curriculum for candidates seeking initial certification in any certification class: (8) instruction in digital learning, virtual instruction, and virtual learning including a digital literacy evaluation followed by a prescribed digital learning curriculum. The instruction required must: (A)be aligned with the latest version of the International Society for Technology in Education's (ISTE) standards as appears on the ISTE website |
These ISTE standards will provide you with some framework as to how to best incorporate technology in to your classroom.
Currently, there are five sets of ISTE Educator standards:
ISTE Standards for Students (2016, 2007) ISTE Standards for Teachers ISTE Standards for Education Leaders ISTE Standards for Coaches ISTE Standards for Computer Science Educators

In this module, we will review the Educator standards and the Student standards mapped out by ISTE. These standards will provide guidance on facilitating instruction challenge you to engage in technology to enhance learning and thinking in your classroom.
