Today is Constitution Day; we celebrate and remember this day because this the day that our Constitution was signed.  

For this day your assignment is to write a 100–150-word paragraph on this topic:  Are civic responsibility and civic engagement important

in maintaining our democracy?  Be sure to write a topic sentence stating your position on the question; write an explanation of the 

topic sentence, and then supply two pieces of evidence with explanation and commentary for each piece.  Finally, tell how you yourself are actively participating in or how you plan to engage in civic responsibility.
