For this assignment, we will do the following: 

For a period of 10 minutes, sit down outside, where you can listen to the sounds of the street, maybe outside of your dorm if you are on campus, or on the balcony, backyard, or porch if you are at home. Close your eyes and listen (experience) an event. As you listen to the city noises, record (written record) all the aspects of your listening experience. For example, do you hear a car passing by, a siren perhaps, a musical instrument in the distance, a bird? Maybe you hear the sound of the wind, or can you hear your thoughts, can you hear someone’s voice having a conversation maybe next door. 

When the 10 minutes have passed, write down the following:

What sounds did you hear and in what order?

How would you describe these sounds?

Do you think these sounds could be considered music?
