When I reflect on the possible topics for my final project, I am drawn to those that incorporate history, culture, and social issues. The topic I am interested in is the development of social media and its influence on mental health, primarily of adolescents. I have observed how people are affected by social media posts on Instagram and TikTok, which influence their self-image and interpersonal communication, and I believe this would be academically interesting to read about and analyze (Fumagalli et al., 2024). The other point I would like to discuss is the history of vaccination and how the population's attitude toward it has evolved. This may involve resistance to vaccines, how major vaccines, such as polio or the coronavirus (COVID-19) were created, and the issue of misinformation. I also want to know more about the cultural traditions, origins, and globalization of yoga. It is an ancient religious tradition in India; however, it has become a global fitness trend nowadays. All these subjects seem topical and can provide numerous research directions with the help of reliable sources (Wu et al., 2024). I want to select a topic that is not only interesting to me but also might teach me something new and present it in a significant way.
