The primary goal of this paper is to provide an analysis of different types of records of dress available during the pandemic.
Records of dress can come from the media, including social media, but must include information on dress practices AND behavior related to the virus. For example, there is information on how to create a ‘fashionable mask’(instructive/satirical), how to dress for a virtual date (prescriptive/proscriptive), why people should wear masks (moralistic/patriotism), why people shouldn’t wear masks (moralistic/nationalism). This information is not necessarily accurate, but it does reflect different aspects of our society (population size, resident type, technology, division of labor, ideology, etc.). It will be your responsibility not only to present the information available, but to analyze it in terms of commercial scale society.
