write a compare/ contrast essay about the family unit in the 40’s or 50’s verses a family unit today (gender roles, number of parents, types of parents, the American dream, etc. should be compared.
Remember: the essay needs an appropriate, interesting introductory paragraph with thesis statement. The thesis statement must be more than just, “A and B have many similarities and differences.” Your audience does not really care about that. Make an argument with your thesis.
