GOAL: The purpose of this assignment is to further your understanding of the difference between scholarly and non-scholarly writing. You will also hone your research and citation skills. Additionally, this paper will allow you the opportunity to explore a critical social and/or political issue. The ultimate goal of any academic research project is the cultivation of new thoughts, solutions, or ideas. Keep this in mind when choosing your topic.
PROCEDURE: -Since you have already completed the research proposal, you have a topic for this paper. (Is social media more helpful or harmful for society?) -Perform database research to find sources relevant to your research.
PAPER: Audience The paper should be written with an academic audience in mind. Thus, the style should be formal and free from grammatical and spelling errors. Content should be neatly and appropriately organized.
Length/ Particulars The paper should be 6 8 typed, double-spaced pages in length (not including the title or reference pages). Keep this in mind when refining your research proposal topic. You do not want something too broad OR too narrow. Font should be Times New Roman (size 12) and have 1-inch margins.
Outside Sources In order to meet the goals of this assignment, you will need to consult at least THREE scholarly sources, though more may be necessary. You may use other non-scholarly sources for background information, but three sources MUST BE SCHOLARLY SOURCES.
