07 Jul Literature review
The purpose of this assignment is to identify a clinical issue that impacts patient care and should be reviewed for change based on evidence identified in the research. Each student will review 4 nursing research studies on the topic and develop a literature review for the purpose of identifying pertinent research that may impact the identified nursing practice issue.
A literature review is a review of multiple studies, related to the topic, pulled together to identify evidence that supports or does not support a change in nursing practice. The literature review should summarize the findings of the research and indicate:
The authors supporting a change in practice.
The authors not supporting a change in practice.
Other findings that may impact the clinical issue and should be considered when changing practice. A literature review also discusses studies that related to the topic but present unique findings.
Identify any themes running through the research
Directions:
Using the library database, identify single study nursing research articles specific to your clinical nursing issue. Use databases such as EBSCO, Proquest, CINAHL, etc. Do not use Google Scholar solely as your source.
Choose TWO qualitative and TWO quantitative articles- they must be original, single-study research articles that pertain to your chosen topic. (DO NOT USE- systematic reviews, literature reviews, integrative reviews, concepts analysis or meta-analysis articles for this assignment.)
Articles must be published within the last 5 years.
Thoroughly read and critically analyze the articles.
The length of this paper should only be up to 5-7 pages long (or minimum 1500-maximum 1700 words).
In APA format and for each article, write two to three paragraphs summarizing the findings.
