Create a Learning Activity

By end of Week 6, create and post a learning activity (such as a learning exercise, an open discussion, a quiz, a game, a presentation, etc.) that you could use to raise awareness about the stigma of substance use disorder (and addiction) commonly experienced by people among your special population. You can be creative with your ideas if they are relevant to the topic. Provide specific details about the learning activity, such as what information you would want an individual to learn from it and what type of methods you would use to accomplish your goal.

1. Provide the reasons you believe these methods would effectively highlight awareness of stigma and would reveal the negative impact of stigma on the population you chose in Module 2. How would your activity help change mind sets and attitudes that are experienced by members of the special population you selected?
2. Describe the barriers and roadblocks that you might encounter from people who may be resistant to accepting new points of view.  Is there a risk that trying to change minds may even cause some to become more convinced that their adverse view of people with substance use disorder are correct?
