For this paper, I would like you to trace the history of one of the following themes to provide context for a modern event.
In your analysis, I would like you to trace the narrative history of the topic you have selected and analyze any patterns of change over time that you interpret. Explain how this historical narrative provides context for a modern event of historical importance.
- Only use given class materials (textbook, discussion, PowerPoint videos, and/or supplemental videos/podcasts) to support your essay. I do not want you to do outside research, but instead, use the assigned work you have already completed.
- If you would like to cite a contemporary resource to discuss a modern event, you may do so, but make sure to include it on your works cited page.
- If you have any questions about the viability of your topic, or if you want to show me your thesis statement, please email me.
- If you want me to look at an outline of your paper or a complete/incomplete draft, please also email me to set that up – but make sure to give me enough time.
Requirements:
- 2-3 COMPLETE pages
- Double-spaced, with only one space between the title and the first sentence
- 1-inch margins all around
- Times New Roman font, 12 point
- MLA Format
- Parenthetical citations (American Yawp, p. 23), (Lecture #13), etc.
- Works Cited Page at the end
