Upon selecting your disease, you will need to research it and write a paper on it. Be prepared to discuss the etiology, clinical data, labs, CXR, ABGs, diagnosis and treatment for the disease that you have selected, predict long term what you as a Registered Respiratory Therapist will possibly encounter. When addressing your labs, and CXRs be able to interpret not only normal, but also abnormal and what it indicates. When discussing the Therapist Driven Protocols (TDP), do not forget to mention the objective and the best modality for the specific disease process and appropriateness for the various ages of the patients that it occurs in. The paper must be in APA format, a minimum of three pages (not including the reference page, or citation page) and must contain at least four sources. The paper must include at minimum two creditable websites and two textbooks with citations and references to the disease.
