Acrucial role of nurses, especially when facing the current healthcare system dilemmas, is becoming an advocate for their clients inboth hospital and community settings. The purpose of this paper isto explore issues dealing with drug practices, research andprescriptive issues, drug administration, and ethical concerns ofpotential therapeutic regimens that individuals may encounter inorder to become better advocates. Students are to select a topicfrom the list found in Appendix A. Students wishing to select a topicnot listed in Appendix A must submit to the faculty for priorapproval. Once the faculty has approved the student is to followthe rubric in developing a 3-to-5-page paper (excluding title pageand references). See Appendix A for topic list and AppendixB for grading rubric. Refer to the link provided on page 12 ofthe syllabus regarding research resources for nursing papers andassignments.
