I would like you to read as much as you can about energy policies of the two parties (and/or the two presidential candidates of last year). In the case of the democratic party, I also would like you to look at the policy proposals from the progressive wing of the party (i.e. the Green New Deal and others). You can also choose to look at more local policies (state, county, city, etc.) in California or other states or even countries. It is an open ended topic and I encourage you to expand your horizon as much as you can. I would like you to write a report (at least 1000 words) In your report, I would recommend first reporting what you learned in the first half of the report and then express your own opinion on the second half. Please note that your discussions can include energy resources (e.g. fossil fuels and renewables), local environmental problems (e.g. air and water quality and ground contaminations), global climate change (e.g. how the positions of two parties have evolved over time), energy consumption (such as efficient appliances and buildings), and any other relevant topics.
