Phillip: Good morning all My name is Phil . I am a construction superintendent by day and I own a freelance graphic design company that provides print and custom apparel.? In my long time career 9f construction I’ve personal seen many accidents and even was a victim of negligence myself. I am NYC raised and trained and for most of years in the business ive seen multiple critical accidents that could of been prevented with proper planning and 5 more minutes of action. In the year of 1998 I was fresh in the business and had no concept of real jobsite training. One morning in Queens, NY I was walking with.the crew on top of a commercial jobsite (we were roofers). This happened to be a rainy week so the site the night prior covered the open penetrations on the room. They didn’t do it the proper way being that used ONLY a blue tarp to cover 36′ cutouts. Long story short a couple worker was drinking their coffee walking on the roof, which was his first day on-site, stepped on a tarp and fell 2 stories. They survived but suffered terrible amnesia for years. Proper labeling, material and guarding could of prevented this man’s life altering accident.
