Objective: Develop a rough draft of an academic book review.
Mindset: Demonstrate through a rough draft a synthesis of Tennent’s arguments.
Instructions
A solid book review takes time to develop. This week, you will focus on the rough draft. Make this draft as polished as you can at this stage.
Finish reading Tennent’s Theology in the Context of World Christianity if you have not already done so.
In at least 4 double-spaced pages, provide a rough draft book review of Tennent as follows:
Write an introduction that lays down the importance of Tennent’s book and ends with a one-sentence thesis statement of what you plan to do in this review.
The body will feature sub-headings laying out the main ideas of the book. You will either critique the book as you go along, or have a sub-heading of critique after you deal with the book’s points. Do not be afraid to “take issue” with Tennent, but do so in a responsible, measured, academic manner.
Have a conclusion where you restate the thesis and provide an overall wrap-up of the significance of this text.
