Read ahead to Chapter 16. Integrate the material into your interview and write-up.

Interview a salesperson who does NOT work in retail or food services.

What does the salesperson sell? How long have they been at their current organization? How long have they worked in sales?

How does the salesperson acquire new customers?

What needs and/or wants do their products fulfill for their customers? How do they figure out what they are going to say/communicate to and with their customers during sales communications? 

How (and why) does the salesperson maintain relationships with previous customers, if at all? (Is it important for them to foster relationships with their customers? Why or why not?)

What do they think is most important for customer satisfaction?

How do they spend a "typical" day? (Not all of it is spent interacting with potential customers.) What % of their time goes to certain activities?

What is your overall assessment of a day in the life of the salesperson you met? Do you foresee that sales will be an element of your future career? Explain.
