Components of Program Evaluation
Describe what you see as the key components of program evaluation within the public health sector. Discuss why you chose these components, and speak to their application from a psychosocial and behavioral perspective. Use the readings for this unit along with any other scholarly articles to support your claims.

Community Health Forum: Aging
Context
The members of the baby boom generation have been tracked from birth to retirement; the effect of this wave of people on various parts of the country’s infrastructure has been studied and discussed at length. In this unit, the community health forum will join that ongoing discussion by sharing some of the demands on the public health system caused by a growing elderly population.
Discussion Prompt
For your initial post for this discussion consider the following questions within the context of your chosen community and healthcare specialization:
- What is the age group makeup of the community you are representing?
- What healthcare resources and organizations in your community will be most impacted by an aging population?
- Are these resources and organizations equipped to meet the demands that may be placed upon them?
- How could public health professionals help prepare their communities and relevant resources and organizations to meet the demands of an aging population?
- What are the ramifications for public health if demands cannot be met?
