Rhetorical Analysis.
The first step to prepare for this assignment is to select an argument to analyze. That argument can be the text of a speech, a literary work, a song, a written argument, or a print advertisement that uses argument techniques. The item you select for the rhetorical analysis must originate after 1960. The selection and research aspects of identifying and analyzing the argument you choose to focus on comprise part of the lab requirements for ENGL 1302.
Using the techniques delineated in chapter 4 of the Practical Argument textbook, construct a 400-word rhetorical analysis argument, making sure to include all components of the argument in your essay. Make sure to include analysis from the following perspectives in your essay:
Author (creator, writer)
Context
Audience
Argument (types of evidence)
Use of language
The checklist on page 117 of the textbook includes helpful questions for your essays. You need at least 3 sources for this essay. Make sure to include an original title and use MLA 8th edition guidelines.
