5.  Define schizophrenia. Discuss how positive, negative, and cognitive symptoms relate to schizophrenia. Then address this scenario: A friend of yours just learned a family member was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Your friend knows you learned about schizophrenia in your abnormal psychology class and asks why schizophrenia develops and who is most likely to get it. Discuss how you would respond to these questions.
