15 Aug Typical Brain Development
For this discussion, you will conduct some research on atypical brain development. Much of this research shows that there are correlations between specific disorders (i.e. Developmental Coordination Disorder, specific learning disabilities – dyslexia and dysgraphia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disability, epilepsy, language disorders, communication disorders, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, impairments in vision and hearing) and brain development. Through this research, identify one disorder that relates to brain development and reflect on the following:
1. What are the general symptoms of the disorder and what is its prevalence?
2. What is the correlation to brain development?
4. Are there any effective treatments to minimize the deleterious effects?
