study two other full-length films by one of the directors on the class list. You will write a 2000-2500 word essay in whichyou describe, analyze and compare the films to arrive at a comprehensivedescription of the director's approach to film making and his/her overridingconcerns. In general, though, you will want to discusssuch elements as recurring symbols and themes, stylistic similarities anddifferences of the two films and his/her peculiar techniques in editing and inthe craft of filmmaking
Criteria for theassessment of the essay will include:
– Clarity and cogency ofexpression and argument
– Clear structuring interms of introduction, conclusion and transitions
– The ability to useappropriate evidence in support of your argument
– Competent and correct useof grammatical and scholarly conventions
– Demonstration of a clearunderstanding of key concepts and methods taught in the course
-The originality,inventiveness and insightfulness of the argument put forward
