15 Aug Learning Goals Assignment (SMART)
Assignment description: Students will identify specific learning goals and set the agenda for their own learning. This is part of the process of preparing for your field placement as you will need to apply this skill when creating your learning contract in Field Placement and Seminar 1, 2 and 3. Learning goals help guide your supervision sessions with your Field Placement Supervisor. Instructions: Think and reflect on the course to-date and what you have learned about the role of Social Service Workers. What knowledge, strengths, and skills do Social Service Workers need to have? Within these areas of knowledge, strengths, and skills, where do you need or want to develop further? Identify 2 professional goals that you would like to achieve over the next six months. For each goal: o describe how it is related to what you have learned to-date in this class (SSW103). o ensure that it is described in a “SMART” way (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely). o identify a minimum of 2 activities that you plan to do to help meet your goal. Activities should also be “SMART” o describe how you will know that you have been successful (outcome). The outcome should describe what you will be able to accomplish as a result of completing your goal (how is your success measured?) The expected word count for each goal is 200 words. You can complete this assignment in paragraph or table format. If using paragraph format, each goal and activity and outcome needs to be clearly identified with a heading.
