31 Aug Action Research ( Methodology section only)
You will complete a draft of which focuses on the procedures to be used to collect, analyze and interpret data as well as complete your reference page with a minimum of 5 sources. The instructor will be looking for these components in the paper as well as focusing on APA style formatting, appropriate concise and scholarly writing.
Intro- just a brief paragraph about the type of study you are conducting.
Participants-You will discuss specifics about the people you are using for data collection- total number, age range, gender, and anything that could be relevant to your study. Example- if your study involves race and ethnicity, then you need to include that info. Also, geography might be relevant., like- the participants are 20 middle school aged children from a south texas middle school. Then go on to break down their demos. What you DO NOT do is identify the participants by name.
Data collection- this is how you will collect data- could be surveys, could be interviews, observations, etc. Could also be pulling records like grades, injuries, etc.
Instrumentation- this is where you show the survey or interview questions, or any template you make to upload the data.
Data analysis- If it is qualitative, you will discuss how you organized the data once you collected it, traingulation is a common method. If it is quantitative- you will discuss which statistical test you will use to analyze it. Quantitative data has to be run through a statistical test. Limitations- This is a section that may or may not be included based on your individual study- The most common limitation is sample size (participants). If you feel there was a factor that limited your results then explain there in this section, which would go after data analysis.
Results- This is hypothetical bc you are not actually running this study right now. The results will discuss what you think the data might say once you analyze it. Do not forget this one bc it is included in my example but not on the one in the module info.
