  • In 1 Samuel 8, Israel asks for a king, and God is displeased. Some have suggested that wanting a king is sinful in and of itself. What are some biblical considerations leading up to this point in the OT Canon that could lend support to the idea that Israel is not necessarily sinning by wanting a king?
