Strategies for ARFF Locations

Scenario

You are the ARFF Commander at the local airport, and the airport manager wants to discuss with you plans for building a new ARFF station. In the plan, the manager wants to have a primary station and two satellite stations.  

For this activity, address the following: 

• What factors should you consider when trying to strategically place the stations?
• Explain why these factors matter when considering the location of the primary and satellite stations.
