31 Aug Sociology Midterm (Theoretical Perspectives in Sociology)
Choose ANY three questions that you wish to answer from this list of question prompts. There is no maximum or minimum length requirement for your answers for each question, but you should aim for at least 2 or 3 paragraphs for each question.
In addition to what the question asks, for each question you should also include a minimum of at least TWO concepts or dichotomies from our “toolkit.” (There is a file with the toolkit list up on iLearn.) A single dichotomy counts only as ONE concept, so if you use both (or either) agency/structure, that doesn’t count as two concepts, only one. You’d need to choose at least one more concept or dichotomy, even if one of the dichotomies is also a part of the question itself.
Important!: Most of these questions ask you to compare and contrast theorists of your choice. You may only use a particular SOCIOLOGICAL theorist up to TWO times for the whole exam. For example, you can’t use Marx as one of your theorists to answer all three questions, only for two of the questions. (You shouldn’t use one of the philosophers I’ve mentioned as a theorist, in other words.)
