Reading comprehension is a process that is enhanced by the addition of related writing. Writing skills are improved through the addition of reading-based writing. This connection between reading and writing is known as the reciprocal relationship or process. Including this reciprocal process in early childhood instruction can be extremely effective in developing reading skills and expanding writing skills.
