Week 7 Spectrum discussion
During our first class discussion and in chapter one of your text, we discussed/read about the Spectrum of Intergroup Status. (a more thorough can be found on pages 19-25 of your text)
The first week, I had you choose which concept you thought best described the variety of racial/ethnic relations in the US today. Many of you noted more than one. After reading about the history, lived experiences and concerns of Racial/ethnic categories in the US today, I would like you to do this again: but just choose one.
I know this is not easy, but I want you to think about any themes or trends that you identified throughout our study this term. Then, identify one area where you think we fall on the spectrum and defend it. We all know that we could find arguments for many of these, so I am not expecting a bullet-proof argument, just a research-backed argument. Include at least 3 pieces of evidence from your text or from the various videos, articles, TED talks or other websites that we used during lectures this year (remember, all of these are here on Canvas)
