31 Aug A letter to my future self
*** Please write something about an international student settled in Seattle for college.
Also, I uploaed my former essays on this course, you can use copy some quotes and
sentences there!
Your final paper will be a first person, four-page letter (Double-spaced, 12 point font, 1 inch margins) that discusses your own migration/settlement/relocation story (or describes your family or family member’s story) by using quotes and ideas from the texts we’ve read for the class. (you can find them on my uploaded files)
If you look back at your discussion posts, you will see material that you can use!
You will need to assure that:
- the paper meets MLA formatting guidelines–no bibliography needed;
- it includes two quotes from each genre (two from the novel; two from the non-fiction; two from the poems and two from the short stories);
- it is written from the “I” point of view in the form of a letter (you can address the letter to your future self, to your family, to a friend, to a teacher or colleague– it’s your choice)
- it is free of grammar errors;
- it is four full pages and no more;
- it addresses your own story, beliefs and insights.
