As part of the electronic health record (EHR) implementation process team, it is necessary for you to ensure that the quality of data in the current systems is of high quality. You have been assigned to assist several departments with understanding the process. To address this, all staff must be familiar with the type of data being collected and how to determine whether the data being used is quality data. For this assignment, you will discuss the significance of using quality data by answering the following:

• Discuss the importance of data quality, and give 3 examples of how to ensure quality data. (Examples include no duplication, no missing data, no data errors, and so on.)  
• Describe 3 of the following characteristics of quality data: Relevancy, granularity, consistency, accuracy, comprehensiveness, accessibility, timeliness, precision, or currency.
