Research one instance in which a well-known person has died from the toxic effects of drugs or alcohol or in accidents related to drugs or alcohol. In a minimum of 750-1000 word Memoriam, detail the person, their personality, their impact on the world, and the future loss represented by those who have been taken too soon. This should be written like a biographical narrative. Tell a story. Don’t just give data.
It is not necessary to detail any gruesome aspects of their death. That isn’t the point of this activity. The point of this is to humanize ourselves to the impact of Drug Use in our Society, which we will be engaging and examining the remainder of the semester.
