31 Aug “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love”
Choose your own topic, as you did in the Midterm Paper. You might use a theme, a literary device, a metaphor or symbol, or perhaps the era in which the work was written as your focal point. Develop a clear thesis. Use three outside sources to add insight to your perceptions and claims. Use any two works from the second half of semester.
“Barbie Doll”
“Girl”
“Araby”
“To His Coy Mistress”
“I Go Back To May 1937”
“What We Talk About When We Talk About Love”
“Jerry and Molly and Sam”
If you wish, you can use a third work and it can be one we studied in the first half of semester, but not a work you used in your Midterm paper.
Be sure to include the texts you write about and the outside sources in your Works Cited page. I will add some Works Cited information you might well need at the bottom of this assignment.
