(CC4):  The past several years have seen a surge of interest in using risk assessment in criminal sentencing, both to reduce recidivism by incapacitating or treating high-risk offenders and to reduce prison populations by diverting low-risk offenders from prison.  Using the concepts from your text, along with at least 3 scholarly sources, create a PowerPoint presentation with narrative discussing the following:

1.  Describe risk assessment and how it is used in forensic psychology.

2.  Identify at least 3 different risk assessment tools used by forensic psychologists.  Make sure to explain how they are used, the population(s) they are appropriate for, etc.

3.  Discuss the benefits of risk assessment.

4.  Discuss the limitations of risk assessment tools.  

5.  Provide an example demonstrating why risk assessment is an important part of a forensic psychologists role.
